Workshops
We offer transformative workshops that help individuals strengthen their imagination-muscle through co-creative storytelling, visual fiction, and cross-disciplinary thinking. Workshops introduce and help participants explore the practice of futuring as a tool to refine their social impact and enhance their work.

Storytelling is part of communication and fundraising for change. Compelling stories capture attention and drive people to action. Through co-created speculative fiction, visualizations, and facilitated exploration The Futuring Collective works with organizations and companies to tell stories of future worlds in which their core mission and intervention is the status quo of a transformed society aligned with repair, regeneration, and justice. We offer visually-compelling campaign assets that help their audiences explore such futures in order to enhance their stakeholders’ understanding of present possibilities.

The Futuring Collective works with organizations and companies to help them imagine desirable futures relevant to their offering or mission. Dependent on the scope, we offer teams access to research-backed, positive alternatives to strengthen their understanding of possible futures, and can provide speakers for internal education on hopeful solutions. We work with artists and researchers to bring the team’s co-created futures to life through visual and written renderings, while using backcasting and historical research to support companies/organizations in connecting their desirable futures to what must be healed and shifted from the past. We offer recommendations for how a team’s imagined futures can inform strategy and/or a change process to align their internal operations with the futures a team desires.

The Futuring Collective advises TV shows, films, books, and other media development on the plausible details of transformed worlds aligned with repair, regeneration, justice, and a positive re-integration of humans into healthy reciprocity with other species and ecological ecosystems. Dependent on the scope, we connect projects with content experts on hopeful pathways for the economy, the future of work, finance, the built environment, reparations, land stewardship, and more.

Coaching
Protopian Coaching Program
We offer regular coaching for leaders who wish to regularly strengthen their imagination practice by immersing themselves in positive futuring exercises, accessing guidance and feedback on how to apply protopian speculation to their work and life, and having time to reflect in a supportive environment. This program provides a regular space to unwind from worry and train one’s attention toward the positives possible.

Toolkits
The Futuring Collective is excited to launch a ‘world-building’ toolkit in 2024 designed for engaging culture-makers, both within organizational leadership and the influential realms of television and film writing. Backed by research, the toolkit offers ways to engage teams and practitioners in conversation and action around the inspiring futures depicted in seasons of The Light Ahead podcast. The dynamic and visually compelling set of tools includes practical suggestions for how to take a next step in enacting the futures of The Light Ahead, conversation guides for using the episodes as inspiration for internal change and dialogue within teams and organizations, and support for creative writers wishing to dream into The Light Ahead space to create their own protopian worlds within their projects.
